VirtualMD — Direct Primary Care on your screen.
VirtualMD provides Direct Primary Care for Washington adults — an Internal Medicine primary care service with transparent membership pricing and a physician relationship built around the patient, not the insurance system.
Dr. Raj Patel, MD provides comprehensive, unhurried primary care and chronic disease management delivered virtually across Washington, with secure access, structured follow-up, and help coordinating labs, prescriptions, imaging, and specialist next steps when appropriate.
Membership is not insurance. VirtualMD does not replace emergency care, hospital care, specialist care, surgery, or catastrophic medical coverage.
Now serving Washington adults with direct, virtual primary care.
The model is built around four simple ideas: predictable membership, secure access, comprehensive virtual care, and local coordination for labs, imaging, prescriptions, and specialist needs.
Monthly subscription
Pay one flat, predictable monthly fee for covered primary care services. No insurance billing for membership care. No copays for covered VirtualMD care.
Digital physician access
Use secure video and portal communication for appropriate primary care needs. Avoid waiting rooms and reduce phone-tag friction.
Comprehensive virtual care
Get diagnosis support, treatment planning, medication review, chronic disease oversight, prevention planning, and coordinated referrals when needed.
Labs, meds, imaging
When clinically appropriate, VirtualMD helps coordinate local lab draws, cash-rate imaging, prescription routing, and next-step care.
Healthcare should not feel like a maze.
Traditional primary care often means long waits, rushed visits, unclear costs, and layers of insurance administration. VirtualMD strips away unnecessary friction so the physician can spend more time understanding your history, data, risks, medications, and goals.
A random doctor on a rushed video call is not a relationship.
Corporate telemedicine may be convenient, but it often feels like a rotating digital assembly line. VirtualMD is designed around one dedicated physician who knows your history and can pick up where the last conversation ended.
Your primary care should be easier to reach.
Membership gives you a direct relationship with Dr. Patel for adult Internal Medicine needs that can be safely managed virtually.
Video-based care for primary care, chronic disease follow-up, medication questions, lab reviews, and non-emergency issues.
Portal-based access for appropriate clinical questions and follow-up, with boundaries for emergencies and urgent issues.
One physician who tracks your story, not a new random provider every time.
Help coordinating labs, prescriptions, imaging, specialist referrals, and hospital/ER follow-up when appropriate.
Core Internal Medicine disciplines.
VirtualMD focuses on adult Internal Medicine, chronic care, prevention, medication review, and care coordination. Some conditions require in-person evaluation, specialist referral, or emergency care.
Hypertension, lipid risk, stable CAD support, diabetes, thyroid disease, metabolic risk, and cardiovascular profile optimization.
Medical weight-management discussion, lifestyle optimization, lab tracking, and GLP-1 pathway support when clinically appropriate.
GERD, IBS-type symptoms, liver enzyme review, asthma, COPD follow-up, chronic bronchitis support, and respiratory medication review.
Kidney-function monitoring, medication safety, gout, osteoarthritis, and stable inflammatory conditions with appropriate referral boundaries.
Migraine/headache management, cognitive-risk discussion, anxiety/depression support, and medication review when appropriate.
Virtual triage for uncomplicated UTIs and stable chronic infection coordination when appropriate, with lab monitoring and referral when needed.
Destination-specific vaccine planning, malaria-prevention discussion, traveler’s diarrhea planning, and pre-travel medication review.
HIV-prevention protocols, electronic lab ordering, follow-up monitoring, and risk-reduction counseling when clinically appropriate.
The truth about your care experience.
The goal is not just convenience. The goal is a physician relationship with time, continuity, and cost clarity.

Meet Dr. Patel, Founder of VirtualMD.
VirtualMD was built to replace the rushed, fragmented primary care experience with a direct, high-bandwidth partnership between doctor and patient.
The modern healthcare system often treats your time as an afterthought and your health as a transaction. VirtualMD is designed around the direct doctor-patient relationship: more time, more continuity, fewer barriers, and clearer next steps.
1. Direct relationship
Care is built around the physician-patient relationship, not insurance billing codes.
2. Less friction
The office-less virtual model removes waiting rooms, parking, and routine phone-tag friction.
3. Washington focus
Care is designed specifically for eligible adults located in Washington State at the time of service.
4. Efficient follow-through
VirtualMD uses secure access, labs, records, medications, and follow-up tasks to support continuity.
Questions patients ask before joining.
This public FAQ gives a clear overview. Final terms, eligibility, cancellation, and legal details should match the signed patient agreement.
Do you take insurance?
No. VirtualMD is a direct-pay membership practice and does not bill insurance for membership services.
Can I use HSA or FSA?
Some patients may be able to use HSA/FSA funds depending on their plan and current tax rules. Confirm with your HSA/FSA administrator or tax advisor.
What if I need a hospital or specialist?
VirtualMD covers virtual primary care services described in the membership agreement. Hospital care, emergency care, surgery, specialist fees, imaging, and other outside services are separate.
Do you prescribe controlled substances?
No. VirtualMD does not prescribe controlled substances under DEA classifications II–V.
How do wholesale labs and imaging work?
When clinically appropriate, Dr. Patel can place or coordinate orders through local or cash-rate options. The patient pays the outside facility or vendor directly or as a pass-through cost.
How can care be virtual?
Modern primary care can often be managed through structured history, video assessment, home measurements, labs, records, medication review, and local diagnostic coordination. Some conditions still require in-person evaluation.
What technology do I need?
A smartphone, tablet, or computer with camera, audio, and stable internet access. Clinical communication should occur through the secure practice portal.
What if I need a hands-on exam?
If a hands-on exam is clinically needed, VirtualMD will guide you toward the appropriate local in-person setting, urgent care, ER, specialist, or imaging center.
Is my health data secure?
The practice should use HIPAA-compliant, encrypted systems for clinical communication, forms, signatures, and medical records. Do not send sensitive health information through ordinary email or social media.
Can Medicare or Medicaid patients join?
This must be reviewed carefully before enrollment. VirtualMD does not bill Medicare, Medicaid, Apple Health, or other insurance programs for membership services.
Is there a long-term contract?
The intended model is month-to-month membership with cancellation terms governed by the signed patient agreement and Washington direct practice requirements.
Can I join outside Washington?
No. VirtualMD provides care only to eligible patients physically located in Washington State at the time of care.
Reclaim your wellness.
Join the movement toward independent, direct-to-patient healthcare. Washingtonians deserve primary care that respects their time, their budget, and their health.
